One of the most common ways to identify cigars is by their size and shape. Although most manufacturers tend to use the standard sizes, the actual size of a particular cigar may differ among manufacturers. Additionally, many cigars are now available in dimensions that were previously not available, and some manufacturers have even created their own sizes. This can make it difficult for a novice cigar smoker to identify the size of a cigar. To avoid confusion, it is easier to refer to a cigar’s length and width to describe its size. The length of a cigar is measured in inches, while its width is measured by ring gauge, which is the diameter expressed in 64ths of an inch.

Below are some of the more common cigar sizes that you may see, along with their approximate dimensions.
